The primary goal of the”5000 Indigenous Scholars Scheme is to establish an essential mass of highly trained human resources in all areas of study taught at an advanced level in local universities.HEC Indigenous Scholarship is a scheme of scholarships that was established by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan to offer scholarships to citizens of Pakistan to pursue higher education. The locally-trained researchers and academics will enhance the research and development capabilities of both private and public universities and will help to strengthen the local industrial sector. The scholarships are offered for MS with a dissertation, MS that leads to a Ph.D. as well as a Ph.D. Fellowships. Since the introduction of the program, the research culture within private and public universities has been developed in line with International standards or norms. Its goal is to build an unquestionably large pool of skilled human resources across all areas of study taught at the highest levels in local universities.
